2015 WASHINGTON, DC CHALLENGERS

CHALLENGE #1 | BY JO-ANN TAN, the lead architect of +Acumen, which aims to provide emerging leaders with the skills they need to become more effective at changing the world. +Acumen builds and runs free online courses and has recorded more than 90,000 signups to-date from 170 countries.

CHALLENGE #2 | BY ERIC DAWSON, the Co-Founder/President of Peace First, an organization which works on the challenges of youth violence and disengagement by preparing young children with the skills to be peacemakers. Dawson attended Harvard where he earned his B.A., M.Ed and MDiv. He is an Ashoka, Echoing Green and Pop!Tech Fellow.

CHALLENGE #3 | Named to Time's "100" Most Influential list and awarded "Outstanding Chef" by the James Beard Foundation, JOSÉ ANDRÉS is an internationally-recognized culinary innovator, passionate advocate for food and hunger issues, author, educator, television personality and chef/owner of ThinkFoodGroup (TFG). TFG is the team responsible for dining concepts in Washington; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Miami; and Puerto Rico.

CHALLENGE #4 | CHRIS PLUTTE has more than 15 years of experience in education, media development and conflict resolution. Plutte co-founded the international NGO, Global Nomads Group (GNG). Prior to rejoining GNG in 2010, he directed all of Search for Common Ground's (SFCG) programs in Rwanda, and was SFCG's Chief of Party on major initiatives in Great Lakes (DRC, Burundi & Rwanda).
