Liz Cedillo-Pereira is director of the City of Dallas Office of Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs, established in March 2017 to be a bridge connecting Dallas’s diverse immigrant communities and existing residents to realize common ground and shared leadership. A Dallas native, Cedillo-Pereira has more than 15 years of immigration-related experience at the federal, state, and local levels. She was the Obama administration’s senior advisor at US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the US Department of Homeland Security, where she focused on national immigration policy and community engagement. An attorney, advocate, and policy advisor dedicated to improving our nation’s immigration system, Cedillo-Pereira has received numerous awards for commitment to service and excellence in the legal profession, including the Ohtli Award from the Republic of Mexico and the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas Trailblazer Award. She is board certified in immigration and nationality by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
