CHALLENGE #1 | BY JO-ANN TAN, the lead architect of +Acumen, which aims to provide emerging leaders with the skills they need to become more effective at changing the world. +Acumen builds and runs free online courses and has recorded more than 90,000 signups to-date from 170 countries.

CHALLENGE #2 | BY ERIC DAWSON, the Co-Founder/President of Peace First, an organization which works on the challenges of youth violence and disengagement by preparing young children with the skills to be peacemakers. Dawson attended Harvard where he earned his B.A., M.Ed and MDiv. He is an Ashoka, Echoing Green and Pop!Tech Fellow.

CHALLENGE #3 | Named to Time's "100" Most Influential list and awarded "Outstanding Chef" by the James Beard Foundation, JOSÉ ANDRÉS is an internationally-recognized culinary innovator, passionate advocate for food and hunger issues, author, educator, television personality and chef/owner of ThinkFoodGroup (TFG). TFG is the team responsible for dining concepts in Washington; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Miami; and Puerto Rico.

CHALLENGE #4 | CHRIS PLUTTE has more than 15 years of experience in education, media development and conflict resolution. Plutte co-founded the international NGO, Global Nomads Group (GNG). Prior to rejoining GNG in 2010, he directed all of Search for Common Ground's (SFCG) programs in Rwanda, and was SFCG's Chief of Party on major initiatives in Great Lakes (DRC, Burundi & Rwanda).

Woodrow Wilson High School | Cultural Affinity increases knowledge and understanding of different cultures and ways of life among youth around the world by connecting with them through social media i.e. Facebook, and Instagram. The Aspen Challenge provides inspiration and a platform for young people to design solutions to some of the most critical issues humanity faces.

Paul Laurence Dunbar High School | Dunbar's mission is to make Palfills, quick yet mouth-wateringly healthy meals to combat a new plague of youthful ailments by combining delicious pancakes and savory waffles with organic ingredients: all natural meats, fruits and vegetables. The Aspen Challenge provides inspiration and a platform for young people to design solutions to some of the most critical issues humanity faces.

Capital City Public Charter School | PEACE (People Exploring A Country Everyday) encourages students from across the world to interact with one another, both inside and outside of school, with our app in order to explore different cultures, eliminate stereotypes, and discover similarities/differences through interactive games, forums, and shared photographs.

Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter School | TMA Gourmet is eradicating the issue of limited food access that plagues communities of poverty by providing parents, students, and members of our community healthier eating options from our school garden. The Aspen Challenge provides inspiration and a platform for young people to design solutions to some of the most critical issues humanity faces.

Washington Latin Public Charter School | Gazebo is hosting a website where students around the world can communicate with each other on a regular basis using videos and pictures. The Aspen Challenge provides inspiration and a platform for young people to design solutions to some of the most critical issues humanity faces.

Washington Metropolitan High School | Breaking Free will teach young people how to handle the in and out of violence through dialogue, art, and media by offering a transparency of violence in our schools and communities to create a safe and supportive environment. The Aspen Challenge provides inspiration and a platform for young people to design solutions to some of the most critical issues humanity faces.

The SEED School of Washington DC | F.R.E.S.H (Finding Real and Equitable Solutions for Health) DC's mission is to integrate nutritious dishes into the community. We are familiar with our community and we intend to influence people to make healthier eating choices by finding an irresistible meal that people will enjoy.

Eastern Senior High School Blue Rocket Society | In order to eliminate ignorance and encourage a peaceful environment for youth, the Blue Rocket Society has created a program at Eastern, ™Defying Stereotypes, Destroying Labels (DSDL), to increase tolerance, provide exposure, and build relationships between traditionally oppressed groups and, through art, expose our peers to the importance of defying stereotypes.

Duke Ellington School of the Arts |  1000 Words of Kindness provides an artistic and creative outlet for youth enduring mental and physical violence. The Aspen Challenge provides inspiration and a platform for young people to design solutions to some of the most critical issues humanity faces.

Columbia Heights Education Campus' mission is to make this big world a little smaller, by communicating with people from other countries through social media in order to discover and promote what all people, regardless of location, have in common.

(Building Actual Links to Leadership) Image's mission is to foster a commitment to a peaceful, productive and gratifying environment in Washington, DC by celebrating young people's brilliance, ingenuity and humanity. H.D. Woodson S.T.E.M. High School | H.O.P.E. (Happiness, Optimism, Peace, Equality) wishes to cease fighting and develop a better way to approach conflicts by partnering with younger students at our local schools and teaching them alternatives to calmly deal with their feelings.
